Fucking magnificent. I first saw this movie just a few years ago, on cable. I’m certainly glad I watched it, because since then, I’ve seen it like 200 times, and of course, I own the DVD now.
It is a beautiful, interesting science-fiction film, with a heavy spiritual vibe. It also touches on the Law of Attraction, decades before it became commonplace in spiritual discussion.
I used to think it was a “stupid movie about baseball.“ You may have, too. If you have, get that thought out of your head!!! It’s so fucking good!!!
It is a brilliant, beautiful film that makes you feel fucking GOOD inside, throughout, and especially in the end. Some great chuckle-moments, too, with the banter between Costner and James Earl Jones (who plays a famous, fictional author), and Costner and Amy Madigan (who plays his wife in the movie).
Awesome film. Don’t sleep on it. It holds up… completely holds up, over 25 years later. And since it’s the holidays, this might just be the perfect film for you to check out, or watch with loved ones.
